CLOSED BlackMarket upgrades (Protection & Rig Repair Discount) not applied to existing rigs after upgrade

After upgrading Protection and Underground Mechanic (rig repair cost reduction) in the BlackMarket, the effects are not applied to already existing rigs.

• The upgrades are successfully purchased and show correct values in the BlackMarket UI (e.g. -30% repair cost).
• However, previously owned rigs do not receive updated stats/effects after the upgrade.
• Example:
  • Protection upgraded → existing rig still shows old value (e.g. stays at 10%)
  • Repair cost reduction upgraded → repair action still consumes full cost (no discount applied)

Steps to Reproduce​

1. Own a rig before upgrading BlackMarket perks
2. Upgrade:
   • Protection
   • Underground Mechanic (repair discount)
3. Open or interact with an existing rig
4. Attempt to repair or check stats

Expected Behavior​

All existing rigs should automatically receive updated:

• Protection value
• Repair cost discount

Actual Behavior​

• Existing rigs keep old Protection value
• Repair cost discount is not applied
• Only newly created/acquired rigs may reflect updated effects (if applicable)

This appears to be a state synchronization issue where upgrades are not retroactively applied to existing rig instances.

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to report this. However, after thoroughly testing the systems on my end, I am unable to reproduce this issue. Everything is calculating and functioning as intended behind the scenes.

To clarify a few mechanics:

1. Protection Upgrade: "Protection" is not an upgrade available in the Black Market. If you are referring to Facility Upgrades or a different mechanic, please specify.
2. Underground Mechanic (Repair Cost): Discounts and perks are not statically permanently "saved" or attached to individual rig instances in the database. Instead, the repair cost is calculated dynamically at the exact moment you initiate the repair, taking your wallet's current Mechanic level into account. It applies globally to all your rigs, regardless of when they were purchased.

Because this dynamic calculation happens entirely in the background, it likely appeared as though the discount wasn't applying. To make this system completely transparent, I have just pushed a UI update to the Rigs dashboard.

You will now see the original (full) repair cost crossed out directly beneath the Repair button, alongside the exact percentage your Underground Mechanic is saving you.

If you still believe there is a mathematical error after reviewing the new UI values, please provide screenshots of the specific rig and the costs shown so I can investigate further. Otherwise, I will mark this as functioning correctly.

Actually, Underground Mechanic gives you a discount on repair costs rather than additional protection.

For example, if you have a broken rig and the repair normally costs 100 Shards, you would only pay 65 Shards because of the current 35% Mechanic discount.
