Building a Minecraft server from an old ddr3 pc

I’m currently renting a modded server and wanted so save some money by building my own. My old build has some sort of a megabite motherboard, 16 gigs of ram and was watercooled, but I’m not sure what was the cpu. Is this sufficient to run a modded server on? Or should I buy a “cheap” ddr4 mini pc like an HP 705?
