C2ME causing crash when loading blocks more than 2,000 blocks away

...yeah. That's the symptom, I have no clue why it happens.

I was trying to find a Swamp biome and ended up at Z ~1995. The chunks starting at Z 2000 didn't render (all the blocks were invisible, but still had solid surfaces, I could walk on them). I logged out and back in, to see if that would make the chunks load properly, but the server crashed instead. Removing C2ME fixed this, thankfully, but performance is significantly worse without it. I'm using Moonrise now, but I'm not sure if its performance is comparable to that of C2ME, better, or worse.

I would like to go back to using C2ME if possible.

I used Chunky to pregen up to 2000 blocks out, but the issue persisted after moving the region file where I was, which leads me to believe that the pregeneration wasn't the cause.
