GUIDE MINECRAFT Import an Existing World with Multiverse

If you already have a Minecraft world folder and want to use it on a server with Multiverse-Core, you do not need to create a new world.

First stop your server.

Upload the world folder into the location where your server stores worlds.

The folder should contain normal Minecraft world files such as:

level.dat
region
data

Start the server again.

Then import the world with:

/mv import my_world normal

Replace my_world with the exact name of the world folder.

For a Nether world use:

/mv import my_nether nether

For an End world use:

/mv import my_end the_end

After importing, check that Multiverse recognizes it:

/mv info my_world

You can then teleport to it:

/mv tp my_world

If the world was originally created using a custom world generator, you should also provide the same generator during import. Importing a custom generated world with the wrong generator can cause problems when new chunks are created.

Do not rename world folders while they are loaded.

Always make a backup before importing an important production world.

Multiverse currently documents /mv import <name> <environment> and requires the correct environment and generator for worlds that used one.
