PATCH: OPERATION CHARGES
Cooldowns are gone. Darknet Operations now runs on a reserve of charges that builds up while you are away, so logging in once a day is no longer punished. Payouts taper off if you grind, the target list stops handing you the same three people, and everything that used to be guesswork is now printed on screen.

Cooldowns are gone. Darknet Operations now runs on a reserve of charges that builds up while you are away, so logging in once a day is no longer punished. Payouts taper off if you grind, the target list stops handing you the same three people, and everything that used to be guesswork is now printed on screen.
WHY THIS CHANGED
- The old cooldown rewarded being awake, not being good. A fresh attack unlocked every hour whether you were there or not. Miss it and it was gone. Sit on the page all night and you caught every single one.
- That gap was being used. Looking at the last month of attack logs, one account was running close to the theoretical maximum every day, around the clock, with no meaningful break. No exploit, no broken rule, just the only sensible way to play a system built that way.
- So the system changed rather than the players. If the best strategy is to never sleep, that is a design problem.
OPERATION CHARGES
- Every Hack and DDoS spends one charge. No more separate timers for each type.
- You gain one charge an hour and hold up to 24. They accumulate whether you are online or not, so nothing is wasted while you are at work or asleep.
- Come back after a day away and your reserve is full. Twenty four operations waiting, to spend in one sitting or across the evening, however you like.
- Overclock now feeds the reserve. Each level brings charges 5 minutes sooner and raises the ceiling by 2, so at level 3 that is one charge every 45 minutes and a reserve of 30.
- Out of charges? You can still attack by paying in NVC, discounted by Bypass Mastery exactly as before.
- Everyone starts with a full reserve when this goes live.
OPERATIONAL FATIGUE
- The first 20 operations in any 24 hours pay in full. For almost everyone that is the whole story and nothing changes.
- Past that, each operation pays 3% less than the last, down to a floor of 25%. It covers stolen NVC, hacker XP and the chance to intercept an encrypted drive.
- It is a rolling day, not a reset. Nothing flips at midnight. Your rate recovers on its own as older operations age out.
- At 24 operations you are still at 88% value. At 40 you are at 37%. Grinding is not blocked, it just stops paying for itself.
BURST PRICING NOW FOLLOWS YOUR CHARGES
- The old rule was three free operations an hour, which was left over from cooldowns and quietly punished exactly the playstyle charges were meant to allow. Save up a full reserve, spend it in one session, and your next paid attack was already at the old ceiling.
- Now the free allowance is your own charge reserve. Every operation past it costs 25% more than the last, up to a 6x ceiling, and falls back as they age out of the day.
- It reads your reserve, not a fixed number, so investing in Overclock raises your allowance instead of making your first paid attack more expensive.
THE TARGET LIST WAS THE REAL PROBLEM
- Everyone was being shown the same pool. The list was drawn from the richest hundred wallets on the forum, identical for a brand new player and a maxed veteran. That is why a handful of people absorbed nearly every attack while most of the map was never touched.
- Repeat targets now fade. Anyone you hit in the last 24 hours is far less likely to come back around, and anyone taking heavy fire from the whole server drops for everybody. In testing this makes a target you just attacked roughly five times rarer.
- Dead wallets are out, active miners are in. The list now needs a real balance or an active mining session, so you stop being offered accounts holding 0.3 NVC. A poor miner is still a valid DDoS target, because that attack was never about the money.
- Opponents near your own level show up more often. Nobody is locked out of anything, the odds are simply tilted toward a fair fight. With the current player count this is subtle, and it will matter more as we grow.
- Targets still refresh every 3 hours and the Shard shuffle works exactly as before.
YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING NOW
- Each target shows your actual odds. "YOUR ODDS: HACK 31% :: DDoS 38%", calculated by the same code that decides the attack, instead of leaving you to work it out from their Firewall and Mitigation levels.
- The Operations terminal has three live panels for your charges, your payout value and your current bypass price.
- Confirmation screens show your reserve and payout value before you commit, and the loot estimate already includes any fatigue.
- The attack terminal reports the real numbers. If fatigue reduced your take, it tells you the percentage, what the full rate would have been, and how much XP you actually earned.
ALSO
- Overclock and Bypass Mastery descriptions were rewritten to match what they now do.
- The help page was still describing hourly cooldowns. It now covers charges, paid attacks and fatigue.
