I've been working on a project called Serverwars. The idea is that players from one server can queue up and get matched against players from another server to play a series of minigames with each other.
Last month, we organized a test between two servers and played several 4v4 and 5v5 matches. The players seemed to really enjoy the event and are open to do it again some time. They gave some feedback on balancing and suggested faster pacing for one of the games. It was very rewarding to see them coming up with ideas. They also wanted a way to watch a replay of the match. I've seen this on Hypixel as well, but not sure how to incorporate this cleanly yet.
My question though, would the concept of servers battling other servers in minigames be interesting for server owners and players? Not every server is as competitive, and the server owners I have talked to seem sceptic at first. What do you think? Would you be interested in server-vs-server events?
