Hey fellow admins, I wanted to write about a small experiment I’m running currently.
I typically run a summer and winter SMP for about 10 people, but it never lasts as long as I’d like because people progress way too fast and get bored.
This time around I’m trying something new. I’ve implemented a series of restrictions that will lift as time goes on. Below is a rough outline:
Until day 3: Unable to mine diamonds or access the nether
Until day 5: Unable to mine netherite
Until day 9: End portal is not accessible
Until day 11: Mending not permitted on elytras
Until day 14: Villager trades limited to 3/hour.
Diamonds are still obtainable via natural exploration.
I think this will give force people to work on things other than progressing. Like expanding their base, building a farm, etc.
Anyone else have experience with something similar? Can you think of any positives or negatives about this?
