What software can I use for a server pc?

Im going crazy. I tried setting up Ubuntu for the past 5 hours because it didn’t have the drivers I needed to connect to the internet. Im giving up on that. Does anybody know what software I can run on a separate pc to run a Minecraft server? It doesn’t have an os on it. Please help!
