What would cause infested deepstone pillars with torches to keep showing up?

What would cause infested deepstone pillars with torches to keep showing up?

EDIT: I was heckin' bamboozled.

I'm running a server for ~15 people and — after around two weeks — we started finding these pillars near people's bases, which always have these properties:

  • infested deepslate
  • 2x2 block base
  • exactly 30 blocks tall
  • top 3 rows of blocks have torches around the sides
  • have torches on the very top as well

I've ruled out griefing.

I suspect it's a mod, but it's proving hard to track down which is causing it, because we have 219 of them. This has never occurred when people are looking at the area the towers show up, which makes it even harder to figure out.
