Hey everyone! I’m currently developing a new SMP server and I’m stuck on which economy system would be the most engaging for players. I want to find a balance between convenience and that classic survival feel.
Here are the three options I’m considering:
The "Check" System: Players use /sell while holding an item to receive a physical "Check" (an item with a specific value, e.g., 100 coins). You can right-click the check to add it to your virtual balance (displayed on the scoreboard). This allows for both physical trading and digital transfers via /pay or /withdraw.
Pure Vanilla: No economy plugins at all. Players decide the value of items themselves and trade using rare materials like Diamonds, Gold, or Netherite.
The Anarchy Style: A more global approach with a Server Shop/NPC Buyer. Players sell items to a shop to get a digital balance, which they then use to buy items from other players via a virtual Auction House (/ah).
I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Which one do you find more fun to play with?
Does a digital balance ruin the "vanilla" immersion for you?
Do you have any unique ideas for a economy system?
