A few of my friends can't join, and I don't know why. How can I fix this?

I had an old laptop laying around, so I made it into a java minecraft server for me and my friends. It works well, except a few of my friends can’t join (timed out).

The server runs command-line Arch Linux, Mojang’s MC26.2 server.jar and LogMeIn’s Hamachi.

More than 12 players have joined the server already, without any issues. 2 of my friends are stuck with a long loading + the in game "Connection Lost Timed out" message. It's shown as "[Player's name] ([Player's UUID]) lost connection: Timed out" I also get this when I use an ethernet cable to connect to the internet, but with a wifi adapter it works. (My PC and the server are in different locations)

In the server.properties file I’ve tried lowering the view and the simulation distance, switching to PaperMC’s server.jar, and changing so many other things, but nothing helped. I've spent days Googling trying to fix it. So, if you have any ideas how to fix it, please share it with me! Thank you!
