Hello,
before I start any form of explanation here are the spark reports of the server by my friend for those who just want to get into it:
Attempt 1: https://spark.lucko.me/DgTkooG81K
Attempt 2: https://spark.lucko.me/iMFF5OXTBg
Attempt 3: https://spark.lucko.me/i3WXxY0E9a
Current state with DisableExplicitGC https://spark.lucko.me/tZfK5dLsc4
Current state with -XX:+ExplicitGCInvokes
Concurrent https://spark.lucko.me/G6KPfyCGsk
Current C2ME settings: https://pastebin.com/2wXF7rFF
Current servercore settings: https://pastebin.com/sSZtU0Af
The server is hosted on a rented server with nobody but us using it for our purposes. Utilizing an
intel 9900K CPU,
128 GB DDR4 Ram and
2 TB of NVME ssds
I do not think it is that bad which brings me here in the first case as I considered moving over to an
Ryzen 7 8900GE with
64 GB DDR 5 and
1 NVME 1TB ssd
hoping it could give me an edge. When it comes to general performance it does not look that bad in my opinion but I often feel quite unsure whether I am following in the right tracks as I spent quite a few days reading different approaches to how people set up their JVM arguments with most of them being quite old. Running a server with roughly 400 mods and sometimes hitting about 40 people during the peak can certainly be taxing on both software and hardware but there certainly is always room for improvement. So besides my uneducated guess that chunks and entities might be the general issue here followed by my probably quite terrible JVM arguments I thought I´d just ask what you have to say about it given the fact that most people might certainly know much more about it than I do. Additionally I wanted to say sorry if this should´ve been a discussion flair but since I wanted to ask for improvement I thought "question" would be better and since english is not my native language I hope it is written in a way that it properly fills you in. Thank you for reading that long post thus far and I hope I did not ask too much of any of you.
