Currently I’m looking for a server to play a mod pack
with two of my friends, we added Valkyrie, Create and Spore together and the idea is basically build an airship and survive on it. So I’m looking for a server with strong enough cpu to handle all these mods.
I tried a VPS with 4 cores of Ryzen 9950X, but the CPU usage was constantly around 90%. According to Spark mod, the load is mainly caused by heavy mob AI, pathfinding, and villager behavior. I’m not sure if I’m just expecting too much from a Minecraft Modpack, or if the VPS is oversold, but the CPU is clearly the main bottleneck right now.
I’m wondering if managed hosting server is better in this situation, as I don’t have enough budget to rent a dedicated server.
Btw the VPS I tried was from Sparked Hosting.
