I'm working on developing a server with a very "dark low-fantasy" vibe with mechanics like thirst, bleeding, and very strong monsters that players can't easily take down. I want to give players the impression they're really in a medieval world and not just "I cast fireball and now all my enemies are gone".
I'm leaning towards no fast travel, difficult crop planting / mob breeding, dangerous wild areas, bandits, the whole thing. But I worry that all of these things would make players feel too weak and make them not feel interested in the server. I don't really see many servers with an emphasis on being realistic or unforgiving so I wanted to see if you think tis worth the time or not.
