Hello everyone,
I have set up a new Fabric Server (1.20.1) yesterday and it crashes my host machine completely sometimes.
I have allocated 8gb of the 16gb system ram to minecraft with the xmx flag. the system is running debian 12 with kde plasma for management with msrdp via xrdp. I was playing with friends yesterday and everything was working fine but ram usage by java was around 14 gigs and left only 100 megs of free ram.
I'm guessing the problem is either a memory leak or the garbage collection not working correctly.
I dont have any real errors popping up, just sometimes a small soft crash of the fabric server when garbage collection seems to run. It just basically displays "cant keep up" and "kicks" all players. After that we can join instantly again. So the server doesnt crash fully when that happens.
The weird thing is that it crashed the host machine this night while no one was playing and the only thing i can thing of is that the system ran out of ram.
I am going to put 32 gigs into the host later today but i am guessing it will only shift the moment of the crash to a later moment in time.
