I am the lead developer of a Minecraft server and I've been working on the tutorial that shows the players how the item system works (they are the source of abilities and skills for the player) by giving them 2 single player boss fights and 1 dungeon tutorial. However, I realized that since the server is multiplayer, how will I make it so that those fights and dungeons are not interrupted by other new players?
The dungeon part is probably fine since I can just make the players not see other players until after the tutorial, since the dungeon has per player loot and nothing much else. However, I don't know how to force the boss fights to be single player.
My current idea is everytime they initiate a boss fight, they create a temporary world (using Multiverse) and then they are teleported yada yada and finish. However... that sounds really painful for the server's performance. Do any of y'all have ideas?
(PS i'm not sure if this is meant to be in this subreddit but I couldn't find anywhere else).
key info:
- bosses are made with mythicmobs free
- using multiverse
- 1.21.11 paper
