my friend has a pc for the purpose of hosting servers. i would like to play modded minecraft with my friend. and i would like to be able to turn on this server when he is not around. but we do not live with eachother or even near eachother. ive tried looking around for shit that will allow this to happen but i have found it inconclusive. everything seems to Rely on the idea that any other computer that will be managing this server exists in the same building/network as the server. is it possible to have another computer access and manage the server even if it is miles away. i need... to know.... youtube and google are not helping me.
