Server creation is fun and I very much enjoy working on plugins and learning new things about minecraft servers but is it really worth it long term for a server?
When I say servers I mean like SMP or lifesteal etc. Like every server(in my opinion at least)is just a copy of each other with maybe minor features that differentiate themselves from others like custom plugins or the way economy works or ways to get stuff that you could normally just buy.
I feel like you'd need to something BIG or something that holds an advantage over other servers, something new that people can experience. Otherwise its mostly just a small SMP that maybe 10 or 20 or so regulars play daily and dies once the dragon is beat or everyone has essentially "beat the game" in their own standards.
Like what really makes a minecraft server fun?
