Hey everyone, I'm one of the maintainers of modl.gg and I wanted to share it here. My friend and I have been working on modl for the past year and have worked hard to bring it into a state ready for any Minecraft server to be able to use. We support nearly all major Minecraft software and are still working to expand to more platforms.
For some background on the two modl maintainers: - I'm byteful and I've been working on Spigot plugins since 2019. I've worked on various projects, most notably Hoplite, and I have a few open source Minecraft plugins that I occasionally maintain. GitHub - Theo is the other maintainer. He has been working on plugins since 2020. He is attending UC Berkeley, and he helped build most of the frontend for modl.gg. GitHub
You're probably asking what modl.gg is and in short, it is a moderation and player support suite. You drop one jar on your proxy and your backend servers and you get a web panel that handles punishments, appeals, reports, tickets, and staff management in one place, instead of four separate plugins duct taped together. The goal was to make this one very very easy to use platform for staff, admins, and players. Right now, servers put together different plugins to make this work, and they'll use things integrated into Discord which limits access for certain people. modl.gg handles everything on the web and in-game allowing anyone to submit appeals and support tickets without having to sign up or join anything, it's literally just one website. Auth is handled through emails and email codes, no passwords.
It's hard to describe everything that modl can offer in just this one post but I really hope that I've interested you at least enough to go check out our Modrinth, GitHub, or landing site. Links at bottom. Images/GIFs are included there for preview.
We've worked really hard on this and will continue to support it. I will say there is a paid plan on the version we host, but it is NOT required at all, and no major features are locked behind it, just stuff that costs us money (AI moderation, extra CDN storage, etc). Since it is all open source, you can view the code that will be running on your server, and you can also run the entire modl.gg stack privately for additional customization. It is AGPL licensed code.
