I haven't looked at developing servers in a few years and I am unsure where to start. I have hosting sorted, I know I want a towny/land claim experience and to use PaperMC but I am unsure on what steps I should take.
I have the old Trello board I had from my last team when I was developing my last server. I don't have my old server files but I have some left over assets i.e the discord, logos details for the ranks. Should I reuse the old assets and replace them when I can afford to do so or just wait to buy new ones? I do want to keep the same theme as my old asset but they are just a bit ugly.
I know I want to have custom terrain and maybe mobs/bosses in the towny worlds, but I was wondering what plugin to use for the custom terrain and if there are any alternatives to Mythic mobs because it's a bit pricy for me at the moment. When it comes to custom mob models is it bad to buy models from places like McModels.
What state should I open the server as? As in should I wait for me to finish all I want to achieve in development or open it when it's in a playable state i.e; when Shops, Ah, Towny, tebex, crates, etc.
