The security check that runs when you log in was treating the same computer as a new device far too often, and it was turning away people who registered through a VPN. Both are fixed.

The security check that runs when you log in was treating the same computer as a new device far too often, and it was turning away people who registered through a VPN. Both are fixed.
YOUR DEVICES
- Your computer is now recognised reliably. A browser update, a new monitor, a driver update or a restart no longer makes it look like a new device.
- The 3 device limit now counts real devices, not the same computer over and over.
- Far fewer surprise logouts.
- Everyone's saved devices were reset. You will be asked to verify your browser once on your next login. After that it should stay quiet.
REGISTRATION
- You can now register through a VPN.
- Registering, logging in, resetting your password and confirming your email are no longer blocked by the VPN check.
- Tor and automated browsers are still not allowed.
FIXES
- The verification page could give up with Verification Failed after a short network hiccup. It now retries properly, and if something really is wrong it tells you the actual reason.
- The vulnerability scanner in Operations no longer gets stuck on checking when the connection drops.
