hello fellow admins, I'm feeling a bit stuck here:
Currently using crafty to manage my instances and am wanting to use SRV records to manage connection addresses via subdomains/ports.
I successfully set up one A record and a corresponding SRV record (and corresponding ports on the router) for the first server which works great, but upon doing the same thing for the second server, it fails to connect! can someone please look over my setup and help me figure out where I am going wrong? here is a screenshot of the setup:
i also tried adding a trailing dot like this [ 0 25585 mc2.domain.net. ] from another post i saw while searching this sub and unfortunately that did not solve the issue either.
connecting using local ip
ort works fine and also specifying the the ip
ort works remotely as well.
strange update: mc2 suddenly stopped working via remote ip
ort??? it still works via local ip so something is going on with the routing... here's what my fwd ports looks like:
anyone see something obviously wrong??
SOLUTION: even though the srv records were correct, i deleted and re-added just the srv record with the exact information and after dns re-propagated, it worked!
