The Pumpkin King, 31 October
- On Halloween night (31 October, 00:00 to 24:00 UTC) the Pumpkin King rises in the graveyard. One health bar for the whole forum. Every Night Stalker hits the same King.
- His tab is already in the game, locked with a countdown, and shows how hard your strike will hit. The home page widget counts down too.
- 3 free strikes plus 3 more for 25 Lantern Oil each, one strike per hour. Every strike is a 16-turn fight and all your damage comes off the shared health bar.
- He scales to your level, so everyone can hurt him and stronger stalkers hurt him more. Below 50% health he flies into a Burning Rage, below 20% he fights for his Last Candle and hits even harder.
- His health is set by how many stalkers are active. He will not fall to a few strikes: it takes most of the forum through the evening. If too few show up, he survives the night.
- A live damage board shows the top 10 hunters.
- The home page widget shows his health, how many hunters joined, how much time is left before dawn, your damage and your rank.
- If he falls, everyone who struck him gets 30 Shards, 80 Bones, 2 Grave Iron and a Pumpkin Supply Cache.
- Top damage: #1 +250 Shards, #2 +150 Shards, #3 +100 Shards. Places 4 to 10 get a Supply Drop.
- The killing blow is worth +50 Shards and the Kingslayer honor.
- If he survives, everyone who stood their ground still gets 40 Bones and 1 Grave Iron.
- You get a forum alert when he rises, and another one after the night that lists exactly what you won, your rank and any new honors.
Tales of the Night
- Five stories, one for each zone: The Gravedigger’s Debt, The Lost Crew, The Last Broadcast, The Molten Choir and Heart of the Station. Find them in Graveyard → Tales.
- Each tale has three parts with its own story and foe. One part per night: the next chapter opens after midnight UTC.
- After every win the story moves on. The story so far keeps every chapter you have read.
- The finale is your choice. Each tale has two endings:
- the hard path adds an extra curse to the final foe and pays a Legendary piece;
- the safe path is a fairer fight and pays an Epic piece.
- Every finale gives a piece of the Midnight Court set. Finish all five tales to wear the whole set.
- Tales pay XP and Bones like a Risky hunt, plus 1 / 2 / 3 Grave Iron for parts 1 / 2 / 3.
Gear sets
- Every gear look now belongs to one of five sets. Wear 2, 3 or 5 piecesof the same set for bonuses:
- Mourner’s Rest: +8% HP · +3% armor · +12% Bones from hunts
- Lantern Watch: +3% crit · +6% damage · hunts 15% shorter
- Moonlit Veil: +3% armor · +10% HP · 8% lifesteal
- Ember Widow: +6% damage · +6% Pumpkin Bomb · +10% Twin Reap
- Midnight Court: +3% crit · +8% damage · +12% Cheat Death
- Find them in Hideout → Sets. Item details show which set a piece belongs to.
- Love a set but your best stats are on another item? Old Grim’s Reshape in the Forge copies a look onto the gear you wear, so even common pieces are worth keeping.
Temper: level up your gear
- The smith in the Forge can now temper the gear you wear: it brings the item’s level up to yours, up to 5 levels at a time.
- That favourite Epic from day 3 no longer has to go. Temper it and it keeps up with you.
- Costs Bones and Grave Iron. Rarer items cost more. Your +forge level stays.
- Before you pay you see the cost and a preview of the stats before and after.
The Bestiary
- All 25 creatures of the station in Hideout → Bestiary, sorted by zone. Creatures you have not met yet are only shadows.
- Every hunt you win counts. Three tiers per creature:
- Seen (3 kills): +3% damage against it, 20 Bones
- Hunted (10 kills): +6% damage, 35 Bones and 2 Grave Iron
- Mastered (25 kills): +10% damage, 60 Bones and 4 Grave Iron
- Each tier unlocks a page of lore: 75 new stories about the creatures and the station.
- The bonus counts in the win chance shown on the Night Board.
Honors on your profile
- 12 honors that stay for good: Night Stalker 2026, Reaper’s Bane, Bell Breaker, Crypt Diver, Renowned, Monster Scholar, Teller of Tales, Full Regalia, Hallow’s Eve Hunter, Kingslayer, Pumpkin Crown and Hall of Stalkers.
- Your profile has a new Halloween 2026 section with your stats and medals: level, guardians, wins, Bestiary, Tales, deepest Crypt floor and damage to the King.
- See them in the game in Hall → Your 2026 honors. A new honor shows up right in the fight result.
- Honors you have already earned were added automatically.
- When the hunt ends, the Hall of Stalkers top 10 get a forum alert that lists their prize and their new profile honor.
Also new
- Fight log: every fight result has a full log with a summary (damage dealt and taken, crits, biggest hit, healing, skills) and every turn with both fighters’ HP.
- Replay & fight log in the Graveyard replays your last fight: a hunt, guardian, Crypt, Spire or a strike on the King.
- Restless Bones has been redrawn: a miner’s helmet with a lamp, a pickaxe and a shield strapped to his arm.
- The Cave Crawler and Void Spider now hang from their thread instead of floating.
- The tab bar is more compact and fits on smaller screens again.
- Medals on profiles no longer turn into orange blobs on our forum theme.
- The Guide has a new Legends of the night section.
