Hello,
I have been running Minecraft servers for my friend group and I for around 6 years. However, life has taken its course and the demand for these servers has dropped. I really enjoy setting them up and maintaining the community around them. For that reason, I want to open a public server based on a concept I've been thinking of for quite some time.
I have questions though:

I have questions though:
My idea involves some custom plugins/datapacks. Should I develop these myself, or get someone else to do it for me? I'm experienced with java, but haven't developed for Minecraft before.
How hard is maintaining such a server? Would I be surprised at how easy/difficult it is?
What are some good ways of monetizing in a non-PTW manner?
