You can now buy any upgrade for somebody else. Vault+ tiers, Shards Packs, all of it. The purchase lands on their account instead of yours, and everything that normally comes with the upgrade goes to them too.

BEFORE YOU BUY
You can now buy any upgrade for somebody else. Vault+ tiers, Shards Packs, all of it. The purchase lands on their account instead of yours, and everything that normally comes with the upgrade goes to them too.
HOW IT WORKS
- There is a new Gift an Upgrade tab on the upgrades page. Pick what you want to give, type the member's name, pay the way you normally would. Crypto, PayPal and Stripe all work exactly as they do for your own purchases.
- It applies the moment your payment clears. No waiting on staff, no claim step for the recipient, nothing for them to accept.
- You can gift an upgrade you already own. That is the point of a separate tab. Owning Vault+ yourself used to remove it from the page entirely, which meant the people most likely to buy one for a friend were the ones who could not see it.
- You can add a message. Up to 200 characters, delivered with the gift.
- You can send it anonymously if you would rather not be named.
WHAT THE RECIPIENT GETS
- The upgrade, plus everything attached to it. The rewards are not a separate thing you have to hand over:
- Vault+ Full · the tier and its +500 Syndicate Tokens + Shards.
- Vault+ Limited · the tier and its +250 Syndicate Tokens + Shards.
- Shards Packs · the full Shards amount, credited to them.
- A conversation telling them who it was from, carrying your message if you wrote one. If you sent it anonymously, your name is not in it.
- An alert as well, so it still reaches them if they miss the conversation.
- If they already have the same upgrade, it stacks. Their expiry date is extended rather than the gift being wasted.
BENEFACTOR
- A new badge for anyone who gifts. Awarded automatically once you have sent one or more gifts, no application needed.
- It is shown on the gift tab itself so you can see what you are earning before you buy, not after.
BEFORE YOU BUY
- Coupons do not apply to gifts. Gifts are always charged at list price. This one is deliberate, otherwise a discount code becomes a way to buy cheap upgrades for a second account.
- Gifts are a one off payment. You are never signing yourself up for a recurring subscription on somebody else's behalf.
- The no refund policy applies to gifts exactly as it does to anything else you buy here.
- A reversed payment removes the upgrade. If a gift is charged back, it is taken off the recipient's account and the purchase is reviewed.
