UPDATE: VULNERABILITY SCANNER + ZERO-DAY WAVES
The scanner in the Agent tab got a full rebuild. Holes now come in different types and severities, attackers can see them, and every hole you leave open shows up straight in their odds.

The scanner in the Agent tab got a full rebuild. Holes now come in different types and severities, attackers can see them, and every hole you leave open shows up straight in their odds.
HOLES
- A new hole surfaces about once a day, up to 3 at once. You get an alert when it happens.
- Every hole is Low, High or Critical and does one thing:
- Firewall hole: +3 / +5 / +10% hack odds for anyone attacking you
- Mitigation hole: +3 / +5 / +10% DDoS odds for anyone attacking you
- Relay leak: a successful hack takes 10 / 20 / 35% more NVC
- Ghost fault: 33 / 66 / 100% of failed attackers leave no trace
- Hold the patch button to close a hole. It is still free.
- Patch within 12 hours for a bounty: 5 / 10 / 20 Hacker XP.
EXPOSED TARGETS
- Targets with open holes show an EXPOSED badge in the target list. Hover it to see what is open.
- The extra odds are already in the numbers you see in the list and on the attack screen. A small +5 next to HACK tells you how much of it comes from their holes.
- A successful hack has a 30% chance to plant a backdoor: a High Firewall hole that stays until the victim purges it. The victim gets an alert with your name, unless you were masked.
HARDENED STREAK
- Open Operations on a day with nothing open and your streak grows by a day.
- Every day takes 1% off attackers' hack and DDoS odds against you, up to 5%.
- Skip a day and it starts over. Leave a hole open for 24 hours and it drops to zero.
ZERO-DAY WAVES
- Every week or two a zero-day wave hits every active network at once with a High or Critical hole.
- Patch yours within 12 hours for double bounty, up to 40 Hacker XP.
- For those 12 hours the target list is full of exposed networks. A red banner in Operations shows when a wave is live and how long it lasts.
- The first wave lands in the next few days. Keep an eye on your alerts.
