What’s the deal with PumpkinMC (And all the other Rust-based softwares)?

I get that it’s way faster, but I find it hard to believe that it’s going to have full bukkit/paper/spigot plugin support. And when is it actually going to reach vanilla parity?

Oh, and most importantly, do you guys think it’s a truly viable paper/folia alternative?
