Ok y'all have spoken I'll try Ubuntu .......................................
I recently acquired a rack server and was looking to try and host my own server. Currently I have proxmox booted onto it and am looking to run the mc server out of a vm. I did originally try turnkey Linux but got confused one night and haven't got back to finishing it. So I'm just wondering for those who bare metal host what OS do you use that doesn't require a monthly fee (if possible)?
Edit: I see bare metal was wrong term. I would like to run it on a VM.
