Hello community,
The two weeks minecraft phase has entered with some friends. I'm the only one on Minecraft Java and all of the others are on console, PS5, and Xbox ONE. This is not my first time setting up a crossplateform minecraft server, but it is my first time with a xbox player.
Architecture of the server :
Proxy : Velocity on 25565 + GeyserVelocity on 19132
Server : Paper on 25566
DNS : dnsmasq to impersonate the official minecraft servers (lifeboat, thehive, etc...)
I know that the setup is working because the PS5 players can join easily as usual.
But my friend on Xbox cannot join despite so many tries and debug. He changes the DNS with my server IP and put the cloudflare dns as secondary. It's like xbox don't care of the config because even with some bullshit ip addresses he can resolve domains (maybe a callback dns).
My theories:
- Xbox (Microsoft) have hardcoded the servers ips in Minecraft directly.
- He's internet provider force the DNS resolution beyond the xbox settings.
Please tell me if I'm missing something. I'm tired of seeing every video showing its working so easily.
UPDATED: We also tried to connect through an official BedrockConnect server but xbox still showing official minecraft servers.
